Edna St. Vincent Millay had it right when she wrote her poem about justie denied to Sacco and Vanzetti. The case was a travesty, an outrage perpetrated by a frightened establishment against the working class.

Watson's book does a wonderful job drawing the reader into the world as it was back then and the ensuing tragedy. I finished this book in Cited by: 7. A convincing examination of the Sacco-Vanzetti case which argues that Sacco was guilty of murder and Vanzetti of being an accessory after the fact.

Even defenders of the radicals will have to answer this evidence. Nevertheless, subtitling the book "The Case Resolved" goes too far. The story does have to be told as part of Russell's own search /5(6). Picked this book up on a whim from the library after sitting for a mock jury pool for the Sacco & Vanzetti case.

I didn't know anything about it until then. This is pretty straightforward non-fiction - not true crime, not creative nonfiction - so it was a bit dry at times/5. This book is not fiction, although it seems too strange to be real. Felix Frankfurter published this well-written and well-argued expose of the tragic case of Sacco and Vanzetti less than a decade after their trial, yet while they were still waiting for the executioner's block/5.
